Cinnamon Cherry Sparkle Mocktail
Are you the designated driver this weekend? Or, do you want a cold and sparkly mocktail to serve to guests who don’t drink alcohol? Try making this recipe for a quick and easy cinnamon cherry sparkle mocktail. It has only 4 ingredients (unless you count the orange garnish and fancy straw) and they are very simple to make.
Tasty, but not calorie-free
Each serving provides about 100 calories. So if you are watching your weight, be careful to not drink too many as the calories will add up. To reduce the calories, make them with diet gingerale instead of regular gingerale. You can also use less cherry juice and more seltzer.
Tart cherry juice is a source of antioxidants
Tart cherry juice has been a darling of the food blogging crowd for quite some time as it is rich in antioxidants called anthocyanins which may provide health benefits including cancer fighting properties. Cinnamon may also provide some health benefits, although the amount you are getting in this beverage is pretty minimal, so don’t stop eating your healthy greens just yet.
Plain water is still recommended
I don’t recommend making this your “go-to” drink on a daily basis. Plain water is still a better choice for daily hydration. However, for a special occasion, these taste great and are a refreshing non-alcoholic alternative to regular full sugar soda or other sugar sweetened beverages.
